Prodigal Son
During this season of fear, anxiety, pray and here God whispering, “You are my son or You are my daughter.” One line from the story of the prodigal son speaks deeply to my heart and gives me a renewed confidence. I hope it gives you confidence too.
The younger son comes home and the father throws a party. The older brother is upset and refuses to come in.
Listen to these words, “‘My son,” the father said, “you are always with me, and everything I have is yours,” Luke 15:31.
The steadfast love of a Father endures forever. God is your father and he loves you as his son or daughter. God is with you his child, and no good would be withheld from you.
You are God’s boy or girl. You are loved and favored. If you have trusted Christ as Savior, then, according to the Bible, you are adopted into the family of God and have all the rights and privileges of a child of God. “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, ‘Abba, Father.’ So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir” (Galatians 4:4-7).
If you are upset, worried, or need something, run to the father. Throw yourself into his arms. He will lift you up, wrap you in his embrace and provide for your needs. His steadfast love endures forever. God Bless you!
