Mark 15-16 His Death, our redemption

Matt Hearn

He did this for you and me. No one took his life, he laid it down. Now we reach out to him, for his grace. I hope his sacrifice still moves you. He submitted to God’s Will knowing the price it would cost him physically. He also experience abandonment from his closest friends. Then the ultimate cost, he was despised and rejected for our forgiveness. He experienced the separation from the Father that was our debt to pay. Hebrews says that he suffered willingly for our sake. It was for the joy set before him that he endured the cross. The Roman soldiers went to work on him. It wasn’t enough to kill him by nailing him to the cross. They felt the need to humiliate him as they tortured him. He did this for our freedom. Don’t tarnish or cheapen that gift by living for selfish ambition and pleasure. Honor this gift, live in such a way that others marvel at the gift of God’s Grace in you. Now he commands us to go, share his goodness with the world. By our service we point people to the goodness and grace of our God.
