Yesterday I read Hebrews 11 and was reminded of all the men and women who carried the faith forward through many trials, dangers, toils, and snares. Aren’t we blessed to receive the grace and mercy of God from those who have served down through the ages. As the scripture says, “how beautiful are the feet of them who bring good news”.
Now we have Responsibility to live faithfully as we carry the good news of the grace of our God to the next generation.
Hebrews 12:1-3, Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
-You stand on the shoulders of the faithful generations of the past.
-Through the power of God’s spirit living in you; untangle your heart from sin.
-Run the race God has given you
-Jesus who is our example of enduring hardship with joy by looking forward. He calls us to do the same to take good news to others.
-Stand strong, with perseverance, and endure to the end.
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. Hebrews 12:28
Prayer: Father give me strength to endure hardship so that I may faithfully deliver your good news to my family, friends, and Neighbors. Teach your way so I might not sin against you and rob others of this grace. Give me eyes to see the opportunities to share this grace with others. Amen.
May God bless you and keep you in the shadow of his wing today.
